Find a quiet place. Take your time. Answer every question as if no one will ever read it — because the most important thing is that you are honest with yourself before you are honest with me.

Reflection Questions

Answer honestly. These are not graded — they are a mirror.

Take your time with each question. There are no right or wrong answers — only honest ones. If a question is difficult, sit with it before you answer. The discomfort you feel is often where the truth lives.

In your own words — not what you’ve been told, not what sounds right — who are you? Write it out as if no one else will ever read it.

Think about the man your father was. What did he teach you about being a man — not with his words, but with his life? How much of that teaching is still running you today?

What is the earliest moment you remember feeling like you didn’t measure up — not strong enough, smart enough, loved enough, or worth something? Describe that moment. How old were you? What happened? What did you decide about yourself because of it?

Who in your life has ever truly seen you — all of you — and stayed? If the answer is nobody, what has that done to you? If someone has, what did that feel like?

Describe the version of yourself you show the world versus the version you keep hidden. What is in that hidden version? Why has it stayed hidden?

What are you most afraid someone will find out about you? Write it down — even if it is uncomfortable. Especially if it is uncomfortable.

This stays between you and Pastor Anthony. Be honest.

How has the way you see yourself affected the way you treat the people closest to you — your woman, your children, your family?

If God created you on purpose for a purpose — what do you believe that purpose is? And honestly, do you believe you are living it? Why or why not?

Write about a moment when you acted in a way that you are ashamed of. Not just what you did — but who you were in that moment. What was driving you?

What would have to change — on the inside, not the outside — for you to become the man you know you are supposed to be? Be specific.

The Mirror Exercise

Find a quiet moment this week — preferably alone. Stand in front of a mirror. Look yourself in the eyes. Speak out loud three truths about who God says you are. Not who you feel like. Not what you’ve done or failed to do. Who God says you are. You may feel foolish doing this. Do it anyway. Then answer the questions below.

What three truths did you speak? Did you believe them when you said them?

What happened inside you during this exercise? What did it reveal about how you see yourself?

Application 2

The Honest Conversation

Choose one person in your life you trust and have an honest conversation with them about who you really are. Not surface talk. Tell them something real about yourself that you normally keep hidden. It doesn’t have to be your deepest secret — just something true you usually don’t share. Observe how it feels to be known.

Who did you choose and why? What did you share with them?

How did they respond? How did it feel to be that honest with someone?

What did this experience teach you about yourself?
